Third Annual Downtown Glow!

After returning from their 6:00 pm launch, attended by moe than 200 people, several of our intrepid balloonists brought their beautiful rigs downtown on Kent Street and inflated them for a "glow" at dusk. More than 3,000 people attended this event on Friday night, and most stayed for the movie afterwards at the Main Stage

Second Annual Free Family Movie Night

Sponsored by HomeWorks / Tri-County Electric Clooperative, the Second Annual Free Family Movie Night on the Main Stage was well attended, and followed the Downtown Glow. Here, HomeWorks / Tri-County's Doug Snitgen sets up and tweaks the projection equipment before the movie starts - with a little help from the audience, that is.

First Annual Cruise In on the River

Our first annual car show on Kent Street was a great success with over 160 cars! Kudos to Dan and Lisa May of the Portland Party Store for sponsoring and organizing the event!

Cars were lined up on Kent St from Grand River Ave to Brush, and up Academy from Kent to Maple. Wall to wall classics!

Crafters & Merchants on the River at Riverfront Park

Crafters, merchants and food booths lined the Rivertrail all along Riverfront Park and on to the end of Thompson FIeld across the river and south of downtown. Just a "good stretch of the legs" and well worth the walk.

Here They Come! Look Out!

Bed Race challengers charge up the hill along the river on Water Street towards Grand River. What luck! The finish line is at the Frosty Boy Ice Cream Shop!

Did Somebody Yell Fire?

Members of the Grand Rapids Fire Deparment charge up the hill towards the finish line (they came in second).
